For Intermediates: Catchy Heavy Metal Song Reviews. Defender by Manowar

First of all, I would like to start this series of reviews off with a statement that I actually love all of these songs in this series.  That is to me, there is more to music than just complexity.  In fact, I think at the highest level complexity is mixed with simplicity sometimes to make for better songs.  That is simplicity can be tasteful.  I’ll also start off with saying that all these songs in my intermediate level series rely heavily on two note power chords.  Yet, if you are a musician, then you know that there is more to rock and metal than the number of strings that you are playing all at the same time.  That said, Manowar uses all the strings of their guitars well, but that is not the point.  They can play solos, and this song is particularly cool because it uses the properties of sound known as resonance to achieve a higher sounding volume.
