Savatage, as far as I know where never as popular as the
bands they deserve to be compared to; bands like Queensryche, Iced Earth,
Metallica, Tool, and Dream Theater. What
especially separates Savatage from other metal artists is that the vocals are
sung. In fact, they are not only sung,
but they are extraordinarily sung, just as the vocalists of the bands above,
and it is such with the rest of the band, such that Wake of Magellan is
one heck of an extraordinary album. I
recommend it to anyone who loves music, and even more to someone who might be
seeking totally awesome progressive metal.
