For Intermediates: Catchy Heavy Metal Song Reviews. Expendable Youth by Slayer

If you are interested in learning a song by Slayer, this is one of their easiest to play.  I highly recommend study of Kerry King’s style of lead guitar for any guitar player.  He does not play scales, and instead he seems to attack the guitar in a spiritual way.  Spirit in Black is another song that was very similar to this one on the same album, which is one of the most revered among all metal albums ever, “Seasons in the Abyss.”  The thing I love about Slayer is that they are almost a more modern version of a traditional blues band from the 1960s.
