Though this
song talks about Freshmen, I would guess that a child would be able to perform
this song before getting to high school.
Very simple, and lots of pop hooks that are common to beginners songs
that are most commonly heard on pop radio that seem to be able to reach a large
audience such that they pack big venues.
Perhaps, there is
a good purpose in supporting at least some mediocre music in popular
music. The purpose it serves is that
when music is more simple, it welcomes newcomers. However, the pervasiveness of very simple
music on the airwaves, such that there seems to be no room for the fusion of
rock and jazz, and/or progressive rock, and/or progressive metal is deplorable
in my opinion.
