Invention for a Guitar that Tunes Itself.

  • Just thought of a new intention, an autotuning guitar. You program it to the note you want your string to and then though battery power, gears are cranked that keep the guitar constantly in tune while you play. Thus, the guitar would constantly be tuning while you are playing a song.

      • Craig Hamilton You could also have a guitar's intonation adjusted automaticly electronically too.

Maybe I am not informed, but I was surprised when I found that there are guitars that can auto-tune themselves.

      • Craig Hamilton Yeah, this is sort of what I am talking about, except I would have this guitar tune constantly while playing. So, whenever the guitar was one, it would constantly be adjusting itself.

      • Eric Dolan Ahhhhh....good for heavy whammy bar use.

      • Craig Hamilton Also, I would put the string tightener gears in the body of the guitar. That cuts down on the amount of wires. You wouldn't have to run wires in the neck of the guitar to the head of the guitar if you put the wires in the body.

      • Craig Hamilton Yup! Whammy bar use was primarily what I was thinking of. Never worry again about your guitar going out of tune while using the whammy

      • Craig Hamilton For example, if you fretted a not and didn't bend it. The gears could adjust so that the precise note was hit, such that a guitar essentially couldn't fall out to tune during a song.

      • Craig Hamilton like even if you hit a B flat, the guitar could detect that it was slightly off and tune with note say with respect to the A string if you played a B flat. Thus, it would be capable of both microadjustment and macro adjustement.
      • Craig Hamilton or if you hit a B flat on an E string, the guitar could sense that it was close, but not quite and adjust.
